One of the things that helps me write is music. However, not music that I know. That is the key. If you listen to music that you know the words to, you won't be able to effectively concentrate on your work. I've found that listening to music from non-English bands help a lot, as I've recently rediscovered Rammstein. That and music soundtracks from video games/anime help too, though I've gotten to the point on more than a few that I know the japanese lyrics, even if I don't know what they mean, ^_^;
So yes? No? Whatchoo all think?

Actually, this is quite helpful for me, except listening to music that I do know seems better as I get my inspiration and it heps me get calm and collect my thoughts, but I mean, the stuff that goes really fast and is hardcore in sound doesn't help me by much.
So, yes ^_^
But different things work for different people

This is very true. I find that if you listen to music related to a subject, it also helps me think. So, lets say you were writing about a romance high school role play, or just a role play based upon love, you could listen to music with a relation to love, like 'BassHunter - Now your gone'(not really love but it sort of expresses it - for me anyways. xD)
